Come on in and take a look around at the new digs everyone! I finally managed to find a theme I liked and a logo picture that works for me, so here we are. Glad you came on by.

Now for a quick update of what has been going on with me tech writing-wise:

  1. The translation QA I was doing has finally ended, as we pushed the new text to our website. (yay)
  2. I’ve managed to get back to my regularly scheduled TW duties.
  3. My big software documentation project has finally gotten back on track, and I’ve got a prioritized list of things to research and write up.
  4. I’ve had my SME-beating stick sharpened and polished up so that every SME I make an appointment to interview actually shows up. Okay, just kidding on the stick part, but I’m definitely getting ready to get tough with my SMEs. My company is extremely fast paced and does a lot of things ad-hoc,  so sometimes it’s difficult to get them to stop for long enough to give me some information.

And the biggest news of all: my computer was upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 this morning! *sigh* This is a tough one to take, I admit. I spent 20 minutes “customizing” Word so that all the buttons I used to have on my 2003 edition are there again. I didn’t have a chance to dig in and really “use” it, so there wasn’t as much blue language coming out of my cubicle as there would have been. But I’m anticipating an extremely blue day on Monday.

So, welcome to the new site, and stay tuned for more adventures in technical writing.
